Welcome!
This guide is created primarily for MBA students working on courses involving secondary research, such as the Capstone. For general graduate student information, check out the Guide for Graduate Business Students.
To gather information on company, industry, and consumers, you may need to do both secondary research (e.g., library database searches) and primary research (e.g., interviews, surveys).
Please keep in mind that not all topics are created equal. The sources listed in this guide don't have all the answers. You will have to broaden your topic or do primary research if:
- Your topic is too new or specific that nobody has written about it.
- Information you want is not available for free (e.g., most market research reports and publications from industry associations)
- Information you want is proprietary (e.g., internal documents, trade secrets, most private company financial data).
