Guide for Business Faculty: Textbooks/Course Reserves/Persistent Links
Textbooks & Course Reserves
Email me to see if we can purchase a copy (print or digital) for course reserves. If not, students need to purchase their own copies at Portland State Bookstore. or other online retailers such as Amazon.com, Half.com.
You can help students reduce cost by:
- Placing your own copy on Course ReservesPutting the textbook (if you have an additional copy) on Course Reserves for students to check out.
- Using eBooks already available through the LibraryGuide on finding and using eBooks.
- Using Open TextbooksInstead of using expensive commercial textbooks, consider using open (free!) textbooks, as well as library resources (ebooks, articles, databases).
- BRASS Business Open Educational ResourcesLinks broken down by disciplines (accounting, management, etc.)
Persistent Links to Library Resources
- Link to library contentStep-by-step guide on setting up persistent links to library resources for your class. Linking is a better practice than copying and uploading course readings into a course shell.
