- Books can be ordered online through the catalog and will be mailed directly to users.Students may browse the stacks, place items on hold (for pickup at the circulation desk) or they can request that books be send directly to their home address. Fill out form to request books.
Finding Books in the Catalog
1) Begin in the Advanced Search screen of the PSU Library catalog. If you're looking for historical materials on a specific animal (ex. Cats) search their name and "History" as subjects.
2) In the results page, limit to Ebooks and books to weed out all the newspaper and journal articles.
3) Skim the remaining results for interesting materials.
4) If you find an interesting item, look at the record to see the subject headings.
5) Notice the subject heading Human-animal relationships -- History. This proves a useful search term:
