The Chicago Manual of Style
The Chicago stye is often used for published works in a variety of disciplines. Unlike other citation styles, Chicago style incorporates two different methods for documenting sources: the Author-Date system, and the Notes and Bibliography system.
The Author- Date system uses parenthetic citations in text: (Smith 2025, 115-116). There are full citations at the end of document on a reference page.
The Notes-Bibliography system uses numbered footnotes for in text citations that direct the reader to a shortened citation at the bottom of the page, and there are complete citations on a reference page at the end of the document.
Always check with your instructor for guidance on which citation style to use.
