PHE 443U - Environmental Health: Annotated Bibliographies

Introduction to Annotated Bibliographies

What does an annotation do?

An annotation of an article, book, or other material does three things.

  • Summarizes a work.
  • Assesses the work.
  • Reflects on the work.

Annotations are not written by the authors of a work. In the case of this class they will be written by you, the student. Students should use their own words, and not copy and paste an article's abstract as a summary.

Annotations are NOT abstracts. Abstracts are summaries of articles provided by an article author. Abstracts are found in library database records.
